The Need of Health Education for Health Promotion Service: focusing on the Manpower of Public Health Center

Abstract

|
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the level of need about health education in the manpower of public health center, in order to suggest a basis data for the development of job-training program.
Methods: The subjects were 96 manpowers of public health centers. Data were collected from August to September, 2006 using a self reported questionnaire survey. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentile and x² test.
Results: The theme of the most requiring health education is the quitting smoking. The subject of the most requiring health education is the adolescent period. The most required domain of developing health education materials is the reducing alcohol intake. The most efficient media of health education is the beam projector. The most necessary quality of health educator is the planning capacity of health education. The most necessary support of implementing health education is the manpower supply.
Conclusion: The level of need of health education in the manpower of public health center are expected to provide basic data for developing job-training program that might be improving professional knowledge and technic of health education.
